THE PPE SCHEDULE
There's so much going on this month..
that I feel like I wanna share with you and the photography community.
My last couple of months were kinda crazy. I started shooting part-time. Not by choice though.
My mom suffered a CVA, which is pretty much a blood cloth in the brain, and I had to deal with all sorts of non-sense with hospitals, insurance, rehab and what not. As a busy photographer, this definitely puts things in perspective to say the least.
Now, everything is set and dealt with and mom is making huge progress. So it's back to business and I'm going at it at full-speed.
I'm going to introduce you to all the cool shit that's coming up in the next couple of weeks and I'd love to meet you at one (or more) of these events!
PHOTOGRAPHER STORYTELLING STRATEGY 101:
DEFEAT THE BLINKING CURSOR OF DEATH!
As you might know, I teamed up with John DeMato and created SCREW THE METADATA. During PhotoPlus Expo in NYC we're going to host our 2nd annual workshop at Peter Hurley's studio.
We focus on the storytelling part of the photography business, and yes I know the term is widely overused. That said, we have a practical approach to this and set you up for success by sharing a framework that generates stories that’ll resonate with your ideal clients with your personality thrown into the mix.
I've been invited by PhotoPlus to share my knowledge about photography and how to position yourself as a photographer with your work by sending out a message that actually means something to the people you want to reach. The reviews take place on the showfloor and I'm scheduled to be there on Thursday Oct 24 between 11 and 2.
Keep an eye out on the PhotoPlus website to book your 15 minute slot.
During PhotoPlus I've teamed up with John DeMato and we're hosting our first ever Photo Walk.
In a time where social media is full of noise, the relationship between the word and visual has never been more important to create a clearly defined signal between you and your audience.
As a result, your photo content needs not only be appealing to the eye, but also visually punctuate the sentiment of the story that you’re sharing in a way that doesn't feel artificial or staged.
That’s where branded lifestyle portraits come into play. These are candid and dynamic images that break down the fourth wall between you and your audience by visually illustrating what your world looks like, whether behind the camera or not.
Maurice and John will give you a crash course in how to create these types of images during this 2-hour photo walk in NYC.
I’m speaking at the Tether Tools booth on Thursday, Oct 24rd around 2:30 PM. Drop by and say hi!
Infinite Color party.
SCREW THE METADATA is going to co-host THE party of this PPE!
